A roadblock on the path to scooter ownership

An accurate depiction of my situation

I have attempted to secure financing for the purchase of my Stella from one of our local credit unions. Unfortunately, and at no huge surprise to me, they are requiring a 20% down-payment due to my not exactly stellar credit report. Apparently something somewhere got lost in the shuffle of my last move and WE Energies apparently missed my last payment. So now I need to come up with around $800 or so to cover the down-payment. I am determined, however, to purchase this vehicle. I will be stopping by the plasma bank tomorrow to begin the draining of my vital fluids. I can get about $50 a week doing that. On top of the 10% or so of my paycheck I will be putting aside every week, the forgoing of fast food or eating out (that’s not going so well, I admit), and the possibility of an early birthday present from my very excellent mother, this means that I may have the funds just in time for them to have sold their existing stock. Which, of course, will mean a two month lead time on a custom ordered scoot. My frustration in this matter is growing by the hour. So for you, that one person that came here searching for the terms “stella scooter review mpg,” this means that my review of the Stella scooter and its mileage will have to wait. Unless you have an extra sum of money that you need to get rid of.

Also, in addendum, I have forbidden myself to purchase any sort of electronic gaming items. However, I may be breaking this moratorium in order to purchase the new Penny Arcade game: “On the Rain Slick Precipice of Darkness: Episode 1″ There might be a review of that forthcoming.

Ah yah, the adventure in saving for a scooter. It will come. I decided to write a book on something people always asked me about – my experiences and journeys. Keep scratching your head. You’ll think of something.

    Here’s my ride…

I actually did manage to get financing for the scooter. After taking some advice from coworkers and ditching my current credit union, I tried the other big one in town and they gave me very favorable terms as well as offering 0% down (I did manage 10% down).
I will be doing a write-up on the scooter at some point in the near future. My internet access has been fairly limited as of late, plus I spend more time joyriding than I do at the computer. Soon though.

Still looking for an olive green Stella? I know it’s over a year later and maybe you’ve found one, but I am selling mine. It’s a late 2007 model, with just 137 miles. I bought it brand new after lusting after them in Madison, but I have moved yet again to a location where biking to work is more sensible, thus it isn’t getting driven. It’s in Evanston, Illinois, not terribly far from OshKosh.
